What a smart group we have here. Ill bet they’re all struggling to get by, while Bush and McBush tell them it’s all ok, while passing out hand-outs to the billionaires. Too bad, I’m just a democrat that cares about health care, equality, rights, education, the earth and good economy.

Articles written by intelligent people, not Rush Limbaugh. Stuff with truths and facts. Facts that show that Obama is a good guy and wants equality for all. As a person, and as a President, he is a stand-up, honest person, Yet because you have the label of being republican, and he’s running as a Democrat…right away, he’s a bad person.

You people, geez! Wake up! Don’t you see how fooled you are? Republicans are primarily blue collar Americans, right? That’s nothing bad. My current definition of being an “idiot”: when I forget that which is so obvious every single day.

Let me explain: For over 40 years with I-don’t-know how many African American people, the burden is and always has been on me to prove that I’m “OK for a white girl.” Once in a while, (gladly not often, ALWAYS out of my own stress/burnout), I don’t want to have to do that any more. Very infrequently I get tired of having to work so hard to build bridges, trust, relationship across racial and cultural boundries.

Most of the time, my memory serves me well and building bridges is just what I do because that is what I love to do. But on some really bad days, I forget — and for me, that is being an idiot– and I speak before I remember: slavery, Jim Crow, embedded racism everywhere, Tuskeegee, lynchings, burning crosses, burning homes and businesses, and more; lots more…

Then I think, STOP, this is exactly how is should be for me. If I were black, I would do the same: demand proof (look me straight in the eyeballs, wait and see how I act, etc.) that the white person I’m dealing with is “OK for a white person.” I got nothing to cop an attitude about. Had the peoples of Africa not been subjected to the horrors of slavery, racism, being defined as something other than or less than the ugly pale people who enslaved and tortured them … for century upon century upon century and NOW … it wouldn’t have to be this way. When I stop accepting, even for a minute, that it is what it is because of what African peoples have survived and overcome… THAT is a clear sign that I’m being an idiot. or whatever word might be better for it. Gladly it doesn’t happen often and gladly, I usually am self-aware enough to stop.

I have never met a person who was “less” than I am; we are more the same than different; we are all in this human situation on this tiny planet together. I could have 52 degrees, 75 billion bucks, all the mucky muck titles in the world and 90 mansions, the Noble peace prize and a Pulitzer… and ya know what? I would still be just equal to every one else. Just human.

So my wish for the day is that the “monkey” t-shirt man gag on his soul and drop dead on his pogo stick … better yet, may his pogo stick fall off his body and he can gag on that.

Ok, I really have to do some work now. Here I am hoping I’m not creating even more hoo-haa.
