The NC Republican party is playing the card beautifully. Denying McCain’s desires to NOT play the video, instead saying it was …a local issue. That way, the message gets out, McCain is seen as taking the high road….

As long as there’s an audience, a gullible audience, then this kind of stuff all starts.

“Oh, I was going to kill such and such a person today but, you know what? I might get sentenced to death. So, nah, I won’t go through with it. Yes, I was determined to kill this person but I’m seeing things through a new lens. That lens is capital punishment. Wow, thanks capital punishment, you saved me from a foolish act I would have done if it were not for you. A huzzah for Capital Punishment! Solving murders before they happen.”

Weak material, but perhaps lamentably this might work as they know we are busy and don’t have the time we would like to disseminate fact from fiction. Though, I think ads like this discourage voting on the whole. Possibly a goal all along.
