Kelly Roland is Ghetto

I’m watching BET and I hear about the All Access Video program doing a show about Kelly Roland’s new video for her song (feat. Snoop Dogg)…wait for it….

“GHETTO”

What?

Here are some of the lyrics: Ghetto/ So Ghetto/ Thats how my baby rolls/ Thats how we really know/ Thats ghetto/ So ghetto/ Thats how my baby rolls/And thats how we keepin it down/ So ghetto
Verse 2: Hit yo block/ Check yo spot/ If the block is hott/ Lay up in the spot, baby/ Roll yo dice/ Get yo cash/ I’ma down shawty/ You aint gotta ask

She didn’t write this…thank God.   Rowland just shot the video for “Ghetto” last Thursday in Los Angeles, but according to her, the song was actually written quite some time ago by crooner Tank and upstart Lonny Bereal. The former Destiny’s Child singer cut the track a year ago.   Why would you sing a song called Ghetto?  How are you Ghetto Kelly?  In the song she’s basically saying she wants a ghetto negro.  She likes the clothes they wear and the way they talk…didn’t she already sing about this in “I need a soldier”? Um…OK…sure!  Here’s the song.
